The first film in a proposed horror anthology known as The Night Chronicles, Devil revolves around five people trapped within an elevator. With paranoia setting in and the passengers starting to see disturbing images it’s up to the police and security team to free them before it’s too late, especially as one of the passengers may be the titular Devil themselves. We say may be as the script is being kept under wraps and as you can see from the trailer below the film walks the fine line between supernatural and psychological horror. Paranoid delusions or actual hauntings, we won’t know until we’ve seen the film.
Despite his name being heavily featured in the film’s marketing, M Night Shyamalan will only be producing this time with direction being handled by the Dowdle Bros (Quarantine, The Poughkeepsie Tapes) and screenplay duty being handed by Brian Nelson (30 Days of Night). The film currently has a release date set for September 17th in the US but we’ll update you when an Irish date is made available.
