It’s only fitting that after the Extinction, there should come the Afterlife. And this time, it’s exclusive (in Ireland) to BurnAllZombies.
The fourth film in the Resident Evil movie series hits screens later this year, with Paul W.S. Anderson in the director’s chair for the first time since the first movie (all the way back in 2002. Anderson has been credited as a producer throughout the rest of the films in the series.)
Picking up after the events of Resident Evil: Extinction, Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, and with the T-virus loose on the world, finds herself brought face-to-face with the man behind Umbrella (and all-round Resident Evil bad-guy) Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts.) The film also marks the return of Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) and finally brings her brother Chris (Wentworth Miller) into the series (ironic that it’s taken four movies to get Chris into the movies, given that he has been in the games from the beginning.)
Fans of the games (and let’s face it, who doesn’t love killing some zombies…check the name of the site after all!) will be pleased to see the inclusion of some elements from Resident Evil 5 here, including the ganados, our giant-axe-wielding villain and the potential for a super-powered fight with Wesker. The film has also been shot in 3D, and the trailer below gives plenty of indication that the film will be making the most of those effects.
Have a look at the trailer below, let us know what you think, and check back for more info and features on the film and the franchise.
Resident Evil: Afterlife is due for release in September, 2010.

Wesker looks pretty damn perfect. Also didn’t think they’d actually go the whole way with Ganados/Zombie split head dog things.
Quite surprised at that bit myself. Personally, I want to see the guys with the MASSIVE slugs coming out of their heads more though. Think we’ll see em?
