With Cloverfield, [.REC] and Paranormal Activity the “camcorder” genre of horror has gotten quite a boost in the last few years, the latest addition comes in the form of The Last Exorcism to be released later this year.
Produced by Eli Roth, of Hostel and Inglourious Basterds fame, and directed by Daniel Stamm The Last Exorcism follows Reverend Cotton Marcus (Patrick Fabian) who after a career spent helping the devout through prayer and trickery, invites a film crew to document his final fraudulent days as an exorcist. Soon though his faith is truly tested when a desperate plea from the father of a possessed girl (Ashley Bell) brings him face to face with what could be the devil himself.
