Movies based on comic books are always the kind of thing of thing we like here at BurnAllZombies, but when that comic includes more pop-and-geek-culture references than you can shake a stick at, then it becomes becomes the most awesome movie ever made.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World finds Edgar Wright directing (Hot Fuzz, Shaun Of The Dead) while go-to-geek Michael Cera steps into the titular role of Scott Pilgrim. Scott, a 20-something slacker with an…unconventional love-life, finds himself drawn to the mysterious Ramona Flowers. Unfortunately, she also has seven evil exes that Scott will need to defeat if he hopes to date her. Cue a hilarious storyline intersecting video game plots, evil skateboarders and lightsaber battles.
The comic book series, written and drawn by Bryan Lee O’Malley, is still ongoing, with the final entry expected this summer around the same time as the film, along with a video game to tie in with the movie’s release.
